| Aluminum Tabs Recycling Simplicity The Clown is Collecting Aluminum Tabs for the Schriners Hospitals for Children Did You Know? ... Every year, more than 50,000 pounds of tabs have been collected annually. All tabs are barreled and brought to a recycling company to be weighed. A pound of tabs is made up of 1,620 tabs. The value of aluminum ranges from forty to sixty cents a pound. The recycling company then issues a check to the Shriners organization. Then a representative from the Shriners contacts the Hospital Administrators to find out what items are needed for direct patient care. The Shriners Hospitals for Children provide no cost, expert orthopedic and/or burn care to children from birth to 18 years of age. The aluminum tab program is one of the many ways we can help with the cost of new equipment for these facilities. The collection of tabs has grown due to the efforts of so many people like you. Your donation of tabs has and will continue to benefit the children in the Shriners Hospitals for Children (orthopedic and burns facilities). It is quality care, it's at no cost, and it may be the best thing you ever do for a child. Your ongoing support is needed and appreciated. Remember, no amount is too small when the cause is so great. |
